By the way, canned foods are often very high in sodium, so make sure you check the label for sodium content before you purchase any canned foods.

Here are some foods that are good for lowering your blood pressure. 

Choose to eat foods that are high in potassium, such as bananas, avocados, wheat bread, potatoes with the skin still intact, oranges, and cantaloupes.

Foods high in potassium may not be good for you if you suffer from kidney issues, so if you have kidney problems, make sure you ask a registered dietician or doctor to help you create your eating plan.  

Foods high in magnesium, such as oatmeal, almonds, wheat germ, nuts, sunflower seeds, squash seeds, soybeans and tofu are good for lowering your high blood pressure.
